Phase Space Descriptions of Quantum Phenomena

چکیده
In this paper we show the deep connection between the WignerMoyal approach and the Bohm approach to quantum mechanics. We point out that the key equations used in the Bohm approach were already contained in Moyal’s classic 1949 paper. Furthermore we argue that these two approaches can be seen as different but related aspects of standard quantum formalism when the algebraic approach, rather than the Hilbert space approach is taken as primary. This leads us to consider the non-commutative Moyal *algebra in which two key equations obtained are shown to be the analogue of algebraic equations derived by Brown and Hiley using the algebraic approach. The different phase spaces exploited in each case appear as necessary consequences of the non-commutative algebra since they are but shadow manifolds already implicit in the algebra defining the quantum formalism.

Matrix Analysis of Corrosion Inhibition Phenomena (MACIP), in which an inhibitor isconsidered as a point in a multi-dimensional virtual efficiency space, was performed on somepyridine derivatives. The needed molecular parameters such as HOMO and LUMO energylevels, charge densities on hetero atom, dipole moment, heat of formation, and total energyvalues were obtained by means of semi-empirical q...
متن کاملPhase locking in quantum and classical oscillators: polariton condensates, lasers, and arrays of Josephson junctions
We connect three phenomena in which a coherent electromagnetic field could be generated: polariton condensation, phase-locking in arrays of underdamped Josephson junctions, and lasing. All these phenomena have been described using Dicke-type models of spins coupled to a single photon mode. These descriptions may be distinguished by whether the spins are quantum or classical, and whether they ar...

As a novel strategy, Quantum-behaved particles use uncertainty law and a distinct formulation obtained from solving the time-independent Schrodinger differential equation in the delta-potential-well function to update the solution candidates’ positions. In this case, the local attractors as potential solutions between the best solution and the others are introduced to explore the solution space...

Drawing inspiration from Dirac's work on functions of non commuting observables, we develop a fresh approach to phase space descriptions of operators and the Wigner distribution in quantum mechanics. The construction presented here is marked by its economy, naturalness and more importantly, by its potential for extensions and generalisations to situations where the underlying configuration spac...
